Premarin is included in the hormone replacement therapy used in patients with prostate cancer. It is thought that male hormones play an important role in the development of prostate cancer. Therefore, this therapy could give a help.
In addition, Premarin is primary used in women as the treatment of menopause. Hot flashes, irritation and vaginal dryness are very well influenced by this drug. This drug consists of estrogen hormones, which is why they are effective against menopause and prostate cancer. But is this drug safe…?
It is important to mention that this drug has been tested in many clinical trials and its side effects have been studied closely.

2. Type 2 diabetes
3. Your skin will get easily irritated, with stretch marks and acne becoming more present.
4.You will lose interest in having sex and will note an increase in body weight.
You may consider that the mentioned side effects are nasty. There is a group of premarin side effects, which are potentially dangerous. They are:
1. As the use of Premarin in women increases the changes of uterine, ovarian or breast cancer; you should be aware of breast cancer if you run in your family history.
2. Cardiac problems:
a. Heart attacks
c. Blood cloths
4. Allergic reactions- this is a life-threatening situation, where immediate help is required. Symptoms of allergic reaction are:
a. Having difficulties breathing
f. Itching of the skin
g. Chest pain
i. Low blood pressure
If you notice any of these premarin side effects, you need to contact your physician as soon as possible. Also, report any allergies to your doctor before you start taking the drug.
Premarin is a rich on estrogen drug and that’s why it has significant effect on the blood glucose. It is recommended to blood test yourself regularly to monitor your blood glucose.
Estrogens have negative impact on the lipid profile. The total cholesterol levels are increased. The same things go for the triglycerides levels.
However, Premarin is shown to increase the HLD levels by 16%, which is good because HDL is considered the “good” cholesterol, and a protective factor in heart diseases. On the other hand, LDL levels are decreased by 15%.
